When we are unable to unblock a drain, excavation can be the only option to remedy the problem. We may be unable to conduct a camera survey due to the fact the drain is still blocked; (see Sonar Drain Tracing).

Following the fault finding by the CCTV survey the next step is to excavate and replace the damaged section to restore the flow to the drain and prevent reoccurring blockages. This can be anything from a simple gully repair to a complete drain replacement. We also carry out repairs to soil vent pipes including isolated repairs or complete renewal & rest bend replacement.

Highway Excavations

Our engineers hold the NRSWA accreditation under the New Road & Streetworks Act 1991 which allows us to carry out repairs & excavations anywhere in the public footpath, verge into the public Highway.

We will complete the paper work and submit the permit application to the relevant local council on your behalf.

Sonar Drain Tracing

A sonar trace can be attached to a semi rigid rod and located via a C.A.T. from above ground this will pinpoint the area for excavation. A trace can also be used to locate buried manholes so they can be exposed to unblock the drain or to pinpoint the direction of flow and outfall of the drain.
